    New Kiva Loan...

    Hi!

I just made a loan to someone in Peru using a revolutionary new website called Kiva (www.kiva.org).

You can go to Kiva's website and lend to someone across the globe who needs a loan for their business - like raising goats, selling vegetables at market or making bricks. Each loan has a picture of the entrepreneur, a description of their business and how they plan to use the loan so you know exactly how your money is being spent - and you get updates letting you know how the entrepreneur is going.

The best part is, when the entrepreneur pays back their loan you get your money back - and Kiva's loans are managed by microfinance institutions on the ground who have a lot of experience doing this, so you can trust that your money is being handled responsibly.

I just made a loan to an entrepreneur named Delfina in Peru. They still need another $575.00 to complete their loan request of $800.00 (you can loan as little as $25.00!). Help me get this entrepreneur off the ground by clicking on the link below to make a loan to Delfina too:

It's finally easy to actually do something about poverty - using Kiva I know exactly who my money is loaned to and what they're using it for. And most of all, I know that I'm helping them build a
sustainable business that will provide income to feed, clothe, house and educate their family long after my loan is paid back.

Join me in changing the world - one loan at a time.

    Thanks!

    We are moving!!!

We found an amazing home!!! It is a 4 bedrooms 2 3/4 bathrooms with a loft. Oversize kitchen with eating space opens to living and dining room. Kitchen has porcelain tiled counter tops, Maple shaker style cabinetry with pantry, gas stove and all appliances stainless steel. Master suite is huge and master bath has his and her sinks with large soaker tub, a separate shower and a walk in closet. It is right across from one of the 2 parks in the community, sits along the green river and is walking distance from the Auburn golf course. It is just about 2200 sq ft and since it is still being built, we got to pick the carpet and colors inside. We are way excited and can't wait to move in. The move in date is just at 2 months away so we have time to pack. Amy's mother is buying the home we currently own so we don't have to worry about selling this one so life is awesome!! Perfect timing with the baby coming soon :)

Here are a few pictures of the model home that is the same build as the one we purchased:

    What Hypoxia sounds like...

Aircraft that fly at high altitudes are pressurized. The air above 12,000 ft is too thin to breath so only pressurized aircraft can get above that. This aircraft apparently had pressurization problems and the pilot was losing consciousness due to the lack of oxygen. This is the actual recording between the air traffic controller and the pilot who was losing consciousness. This is an amazing piece of recording... This is a recording of what Hypoxia sounds like...

Hypoxia is defined by Wikipedia as a pathological condition in which the body as a whole (generalized hypoxia) or a region of the body (tissue hypoxia) is deprived of adequate oxygen supply.

    Soooo much snow...

Sooo much snow. More snow then I have ever lived in. A white Christmas for the first time in my life though, that was pretty cool. Here are a few pictures of our dogs playing in it, or just trying to get out of it...

    Christmas 2008

This year Amy and I were going to host this Christmas as our house with my parents, her mom and grandmother. Well, the weather forced my parents plane back to Oakland so they could not make it and the roads were to bad for Amy's mom to make it to our house in her Mustang. This year Christmas was not going very well. So, Amy and I prepared all the food the night before, packed it up in a cooler and went to her grandmothers house to try and salvage what we could with this Christmas disaster 2008. Here are the pictures of us opening presents:
